- The Viennese Georg Eckmayr is an artist, researcher and lecturer.
He studied digital art at the class of Peter Weibel under whose supervision he also completed and defended his doctoral thesis on digital images.

This work documents the natural regrowth on tracks left by heavy machinery used in industrial logging. Five to ten years after their use, these areas are abandoned and no longer of human interest, allowing them to remain completely untouched. As a result, unique swamp-like ecosystems emerge in the compacted soil left behind by the machines. We observe salamanders, colonies of frogs, and various species of grasses and smaller shrubs that are absent in areas dominated by large trees.
