Inter-frame interpolations via the H.264 motion sensitive compression algorithm of the zoom out of an image from maybe dubious origin.
This film was intentionally crafted with a focus on maintaining the smallest file size possible. To achieve this, I leveraged the MP4 codec not only as a delivery format but also as an integral part of the editing and animation workflow: The timing, rhythm, and flow are shaped by the codec's efforts to interpolate and compensate for missing information.
Background:
We live in a world where simple software consumes masses of disk space to nudge us into using cloud based storage, owned by big corporations. The focus on small files sizes, on reducing data to the max, to minimize our and our software's data consumption is a much needed cry against this evil doing. Further in a broader sense I think a digitalized society needs to reflect its use of storage resources.
